Export documents

If you are going to export goods, you will need the correct documents. These documents ensure that your goods arrive without problems in the destination country and that your buyer does not pay unnecessary taxes. There are several export documents and it varies per destination if, and which document is needed. An export document may be needed to pay less import duty or even no import duty at all or because of trade policy measures.

Which export documents are there?

There are different types of documents that may be needed for export. Via CARGO you can prepare the following export documents with our customs application. We can also prepare a document for you.

3 types of export documents

EUR.1 certificate

The EUR.1 certificate can entitle you to a discount or possibly even exemption from import duties. This can therefore be very beneficial for the importer on site. The exported product must be manufactured within the European Union. The product must also be exported to a country with which the EU has concluded a trade agreement. Is this the case? Then this document can be very interesting for you.

Certificate of origin

The Certificate of Origin shows in which country the product is made. A CoC may be required in some countries outside the EU. This is often due to trade measures, such as boycotts or import restrictions. With a CvO you may have a more favorable import tariff (Most Favored Nation – MFN), or you don’t even have to pay import duties. A CvO applies to countries without a trade agreement.

A.TR document

This document is intended for trade between the EU Member States and Turkey. The A.TR document is an origin document and therefore not an origin document. For many goods from the European Union, no import duties have to be paid in Turkey. The condition is that the origin of the goods lies in the EU or Turkey.

Legalize document

Dutch documents are not automatically valid in the country with which you are trading. The export document may have to be legalized. We can arrange that for you. Legalization is the conclusion that the document has been signed by an authorized person (known to the Chamber of Commerce). Common documents are: sales invoices, packing lists or supplier statements.
