Age Restriction Boma

Most of you have already heard rumors about the age restriction issued by the Congolese Government for imports of second hand vehicles into the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The related Inter Ministerial Decree, signed and dated on 02/10/12 and officially published on 26/10/2012, is coming into force 60 days after official publication.  Both documents are here attached for guidance.

Therefore the Eurocargo Europa 0812 should still sail in due time, as per current schedules.

As per the Decree, the age limitation is set as follows :

* cars and svans up to maximum 10 seats are limited to 10 years
* vans : utility vehicles and vans exceeding 10 seats are limited to 7 years
* all trucks / machinery / heavy vehicles are limited to 10 years

It goes without saying that the entire responsibility to adhere to the import regulations remains with the shippers. Any fines / costs will therefore be for shippers / receivers account.
