Nigerian Customs will not accept manifest with generic description of goods anymore!
“Please note that the Nigerian Customs will not accept manifest with generic description of goods anymore (i.e. not acceptable to have something like ‘spare parts’, ‘electronic goods’ chemicals, etc). The description must be as accurate as possible for the purpose of duty assessment. Therefore please do not mention spare parts, chemical, etc anymore to avoid problems that may occur during cargo delivery procedures with our customers because customs are strict with their instruction.
Kindly comply always in all your subsequent cargo manifest that will be sent to Lagos, so that your manifest will not have any problems with the Nigerian customs.”
